Defying week-old U.N. sanctions over its nuclear program, Iran promised to expand its atomic research Wednesday as its president vowed to punish the West and force it to “sit at the negotiating table like a polite child” before agreeing to further talks.

It appears that for the first time in modern Israeli history, it is possible for this prophecy to be fulfilled. Since Harry Truman stood with Israel at their inception on May 14, 1948, the US has been the one nation that Israel could count on to stand with them. But coming next week, that will change as the US not only supports a condemnation of Israel, but it appears that the US Ambassador to the UN, Susan Rice, has been actively formulating the resolution against Israel. Many have documented the correlation between past US criticisms of Israel and tragedies in the US. I feel that Believers should watch for this to happen when the UN passes this resolution next week. May God have mercy on us all.

The Obama administration, which labored for months to impose tough new United Nations sanctions against Iran, now is pushing in the opposite direction against Congress as it crafts U.S. sanctions that the White House fears may go too far.

Mr. Ahmadinejad was to meet separately on Tuesday with the Russian prime minister, Vladimir V. Putin, at the conference, a move that is likely to worry the United States, which won the support of both Russia and China for sanctions this month.

The rapprochement between Iran, Turkey and Syria is creating a new regional axis that, for all practical purposes, could replace the diminished Arab triangle of Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Syria and transform the region in the process.
